Who wouldn't want free digital books!

I received an email regarding some books that are available as a free download from Deseret Books. The titles are listed below along with the link. The following is from John Hilton III who is making this available. I just finished downloading all of them!

As part of his doctoral studies, John Hilton III is "studying what happens when books are made available for free." He worked with "Deseret Book and they have made 8 of their books available for free." They can all be downloaded at http://deseretbook.com/free. Several of the books are ones you might be interested in. The books are:

1. Please Pass the Scripture (by me).
2. What I Wish I Would Have Known When I Was Single (by John Bytheway).
3. Women at the Well (by Richard and Jeni Holzapfel).
4. Digging Deeper (by Robert Eaton).
5. 10 Secrets Wise Parents Know (by Brent Top and Bruce Chadwick).
6. Growing Up: Gospel Answers About Maturation and Sex (by Brad Wilcox).
7. Saving Kristen (by Jack Weyland). (fiction)
8. The Hidden Path (by C.B. Andersen). (fiction)

If nothing else, I recommend that you go download them all and save them for future reference as they will only be available online for free for a short time.

"Could you forward this information on to others who might be interested? I want to help share these great, free resources with as many people as possible. Some of the books help you get more out of the scriptures. Others are good for parenting. Some are just plain fun. Go check out http://deseretbook.com/free. I hope you like the books!"

New to our Ward!

Keri Sue Patterson comes to our Ward from Utah, where her three younger sisters still live. She and her husband, Russell are recent newlyweds. Something interesting to know about Keri Sue is that she was in an 80's rock band. She enjoys sports, music and hanging out with family and friends. Russell is the Football Coach for Lon Morris College in Jacksonville where the reside. Keri Sue is a Grad student which keeps her very busy. Her birthday is April 14th. Let's give the Patterson Family a ward Bullard Ward welcome. (Also, ask her what she did in the band!)

The Best Relief Society Meeting Ever!

We hope that you have cleared your calendar for Thursday evening, November 5th, NEXT WEEK! You will not want to miss out on one of my favorite nights of all......Christmas Enrichment. (yes, we are still going to call it that). We are Simplifying Christmas for you!

The evening will start at 6:30 with some of our members most favorite Christmas morning recipes. All you have to do is come and enjoy (and bring your dish if you signed up:). The Young Women have been big players in the decorating of the tables. I'm sure you can get some ideas from them as well. Can you smell the Gingerbread??

Next, we will have two of the most amazing ladies I know, teach us some fast, simple and incredibly creative gift ideas for family and friends. Prudie Hyland and Christi Lloyd have been working over a month to prepare their class. It will be one that you will wish you could video and refer to for years to come. Be on time so that you can put your name in for a drawing of some of the gifts they've made.

Have you ever wondered how to wrap gifts like the professionals? Well, you will come away from the next class will skills that could get you a job Gift-Wrapping for Neimans!
Karen Nielsen is one of the best to teach this class. How to do it on a budget.....thinking outside the box..... on up to high end. We will even learn how to tie bows. Really, you will be able to do it, I promise.

We are asking you to dig in your attics or closets and bring your Christmas Stockings. We all want to hear the stories behind them and maybe get some new ideas for ourselves. Also, if you have any items that you have made for gifts, bring them. This is the time to brag a little!

Last but not least, we are putting together Missionary Stockings. We would love you to bring something you have on hand that will brighten their Christmas. How we love our Missionaries!

A Nursery will be provided for the kiddos, so you have no excuse not to come. We can't wait to see you all and share the spirit of the season with each other. See you there......

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission

We have two families in our ward with great news. The Pierce Family's eldest daughter, Nina has been called to serve in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission and will be reporting to the MTC in Provo on Oct. 7. She is so excited to serve, but she will be greatly missed. Be sure to call and wish her well.

Natalie Harrelson, Jennifer Kolbo's sister has been called to the Denmark Copenhagen Mission.
This is going to be an amazing experience for her as she shares the gospel there. She is reporting to the MTC on January 20th 2010. She still has a little time left for to prepare and for her to feel the love of her ward family. She too, is going to be missed. Wish her well and BonVoyage when you see her.

You can post comments for them and they will be forwarded.

Calling All People (especially Children) with TEETH!

We have a little "Serendipity (noun) -good luck in making unexpected and fortunate discoveries," going on in our Ward. Chelsea Smart is a dental hygiene student at TJC and is desperately needing new patients. Remember that TJC has one of the top rated Dental Hygienist Programs in the country. This is under the direction of a Dentist who will be examining her work and the patients teeth as well. The appointment times are Monday @ 8 am and 1 pm and Wednesdays @ 8 am. The appointment is $20.00 and INCLUDES cleaning, full x-rays and sealants. Now that is Serendipity! You can reach her by e-mail @ smart.chelsea@yahoo.com.

A little bit of rain and a cold front coming in. A perfect time to make a warm pot of soup and a loaf of amazing bread!

Are you ready for Recipe Group tonight! Don't let the weather make you miss what will be a great evening! Alana Kindle has been hard at work getting her beautiful home ready for you! All the festivities (and eating) will begin at 7:00 PM at 304 Coventry St, Bullard TX 75757. If you need directions, cut and paste the address into Google Maps or call Alana at 903-894-6541.

Make a BIG pot of soup for your family, leave a little bit for them and bring the rest with you to share with all your friends. Print a few recipes (30 or so :) and come join us for a girls night out Mormon style! Great breads or anything else you feel like making would be great. You know that we are always up for a great dessert or anything else you can think of! If you run out of time, still come and enjoy what everyone else has done and we will host the next one at your house.....just kidding. But don't let empty hands keep you from having your heart filled! Can't wait to see all of you!

What a great night!

Last Thursday evening, we really did have a great time! Many thanks to all the teachers Christi Hard of Tyler 2nd, Leslie Haskel, Sunshine Robinson and Tyan Jacox of Houston, for all the time they took to teach us a tiny portion of what they know!

We have listed, each of their classes. If you are interested in learning more, please put your name in a comment box with what you would like to specifically learn. We will then put the classes on the calendar and get started.

Special thanks to Donella Younger and Julie Hunt for the great dinner! Also, two members of the best Young Women's group around, Jessica MacDonald and Karla Quiroz for their Babysitting services!
